I’ve been a server/bartender off and on for the past 22 years I think. I’m really good at what I do. Clearly I enjoy doing it because I wouldn’t still be doing it, lol! However, with any job, there are things that I don’t like about my industry. The number one thing is bad tippers 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️.

I’m aware not everyone understands how tipping works. I completely understand that. Some days I’m not always on my game but I’m always a good server!

My job as a server is to serve the guest. You’re being served. You’re choosing to come to a restaurant to have someone serve you. Therefore you’re tipping them for providing a service to you. We’re both choosing these things. When you come to the restaurant and sit down, you know we work for tips. That’s our entire reason for being there. That’s how we pay our bills. If you don’t like to tip, you should absolutely not come to a restaurant where you have to tip! Why would you choose a restaurant for tipped employees and you don’t like to tip?

Imagine going to work, being on time, doing everything right, and when it came time to get paid, you didn’t have a paycheck? Or, the boss gave you the bare minimum because he didn’t feel like he needed to give you more money because he didn’t have to! Servers go through this all the time 😒

I often think to myself, why are you here if you don’t like to tip or don’t want to tip? You know this a restaurant with tipped servers 🙄. The look on some people’s face when they receive the tab. The prices weren’t hidden. You knew you had to tip the server before you sat down……..

Always remember your servers/bartenders are humans. We have feelings. We have things going on but we go to work and we try to provide you with the best experience ever when you come to our restaurant! Be kind to us, otherwise. Why are you here?
