Definition of Accountability!

Yesterday I was sitting next to a friend after the George Floyd verdict. I said to her, I still don’t feel right. She looked at me and said, “that’s because justice wasn’t service, accountability was!” She made me think of what exactly the definition of accountability is!

I went to yourdictionary.com and she’s exactly right! I already knew the definition but I still wanted to look it up and share it. Why? Well because when you look at what happened to George Floyd it seemed as if no one wanted to hold Derek Chauvin accountable or responsible for what happened. Well, not until the verdict was read. Even after watching the video of him slowly being murdered people were in denial and placing blame everywhere else. It was heartbreaking.

Seeing the definition in black and white, that’s exactly what happened today in the courtroom! Derek Chauvin was held accountable for murdering George Floyd. Justice will be his sentence for murdering him in broad daylight for everyone to see!
