Remember Their Names!

Good morning beautiful humans, happy Tuesday! Thank you for spending part of your morning with me or evening depending on where you live in this great big world. Welcome to Life with Lane, my life through words, pictures, and food

A few days ago I wrote a blog about a sweet little three-year-old girl name Kamille McKinney. Kamille was abducted, she was murdered, and dumped into a dumpster like she was a piece of garbage. My God who would do such a thing?

This story broke my heart into a million pieces. It made me think of stories that I read about in the past about abducted children. However, alot of those children in most of these cases are never found! The one I remember the most is Trenton Duckett. I believe he was about 3 years old. He was abducted over 12 years and still hasn’t been found. His Mother committed suicide about 10 days after his disappearance. I read last week his town of Sarasota still holds visuals for him. His stepfather won’t give up and prays he will be returned.

While reading up on Trenton Duckett and Kamille McKinney, I found out that another child had been found in a landfill. She was 5 year old Neveah Adams and she’d been missing since August. I’m not sure why this isn’t national news but it should be. The body of a 5 year old girl was found in a landfill.

Neveah Adams

Its important that we remember the names of these children so they’re not forgotten. The moment we stop talking about these tragedies, they go away. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in things that don’t matter, we forget the things that matter! The lives of these children mattered. They’re are so many more than the three I named.

Before I go I want to say, in addition to these innocent children, we can’t forget the lives of unarmed black men and women that are taken.

About two weeks ago in Fort Worth, a 28 year old African American woman, by the name of Atatiyana Koquice Jefferson, was shot and killed by an officer in her home. Atatiyana was unarmed. The officer didnt identify himself when he entered the home and he shot this mother of one within minutes of entering the home.

Remember their names, they matter. Until we make a fuss about it, these thinks will keep happening. Thanks for reading my blog. Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind

As a parent this is the number 1 fear. I’ll never understand the mind of a person who would do something like this!
