Good morning beautiful humans, happy Sunday. Thank you for spending part of your morning with me or evening depending on where you live in this great big world! Welcome to Life with Lane, my life through words, pictures, and food!

My love for old Hollywood started when I first saw Marilyn Monroe. I was captivated by her. She’s simply mesmerizing. I just thought she was the most magnificent thing I had ever seen in my life. She was just this beautiful piece of art that was walking around and talking. Anything with her on it, I have to have it. Shirts, purses, watches, scarves, necklace, pajamas, photo boxes, coffee mugs, lunchboxes, etc!

Oh, and don’t get me started on her movies! Have you seen Seven Year Itch? I’m not sure which movie is my favorite but Gentlemen Prefer Blondes might be my favorite. However, I really love Some Like it Hot and How to Marry a Millonaire.

There’s just something about the women from old Hollywood that take my breath away. How naturally beautiful they were. The amazing hair. I loved the fingerwaves. How they were curvy and it was okay. The fabulous gowns they wore. How they were so classy and elegant. I loved how when people went out in general back then, they always dressed up! Like everything was an event and they dressed the part.
I love black and white photographs and black and white movies because of old Hollywood. I actually prefer black and white photographs. I really just like having my photo taken, lol! I guess that’s what happens when your big brother is a photographer.
