Good morning beautiful humans, happy Friday! Thanks for spending part of your morning with me or evening depending on where you live in this great big world! Welcome to Life with Lane; my life through words, pictures, and food!

I’ve always been a person that likes to go places, do things, try new experiences, etc. People ask me often how am I able to travel, eat out, take off work, blah blah blah. My answer is very simple, I work and I save my money.
Maybe I’m able to do more than some people because I don’t have any children and I don’t have to spend my money on anything other than myself. Well, myself and the old man. Just some extra information here; I’ve been really blessed with him. He’s rarely sick and he’s 14 years old now. Not many vet visits other than his regular check ups. He’s the best thing ever.

Okay, so back to my topic. When there is something that I really want to do or some place I really want to visit. A restaurant that I want to eat at; I save my money and I do it. I don’t go anywhere or spend my money on anything else until after I do that.
Up until recently anywhere that I traveled I paid my own way. Over the years I’ve discovered that when you really want to do something; when you save up the money you pay for whatever it is that you were saving, pay for it immediately. If you don’t, you’re going to use that money on something else and you’re not going to do what it is that you were saving the money for.
I don’t make a lot of money; I have bills just like everybody else but when I’m focused and there’s something I really want to do, I don’t do anything else until I’m able to do the thing that I really wanted. I won’t go out to eat. I won’t go to the movies. I won’t buy myself milkshakes from Wawa. Okay, maybe I still buy myself a milkshake from Wawa, lol! I save every dime to go to the place I wanted to go.

I will suffer and make sacrifices until I’m able to do what I wanted to do. Life is too short to have regrets. I saw this fantastic quote and this is something that I live by now, “You can make more money but you can’t get back more time!” Maybe living the way I do will have me retiring later in life. However, I’d rather travel now and have fun when I’m still young; as opposed to waiting until I retire in my 70’s. Then I might be to tired to travel or sickly or who knows.
So, there may not be a lot of money in my savings account maybe none at all, lol! I’ve been able to do the things that I want to do and I’m enjoying my life. I still have time to make money and save. I’m not simply just existing I am living and I encourage you all to do the same.
