My Review of the new Child’s Play

So, I saw the latest version of Child’s Play and I must say I was pretty disappointed. I just had to see the movie because growing up, it was one of my favorite so-called horror movies. It was a horror movie but not like a real horror movie, lol! It didn’t give me nightmares or anything. My favorite thing about the movie was Chucky’s voice. Well, the new movie, Chucky was voiced by non other than Mark Hamil. Yes, you heard me, the Mark Hamil. Let me tell you why I was disappointed with this movie. 

1.When the original came out, the whole premise of the movie was this guy named Charles Lee Ray possessed and took over the Chucky doll. The new movie had nothing to do with that. Chucky was just a dysfunctional batshit crazy doll. 

2. Chucky looked cute when he was normal and not his Charles Lee Ray self. The new chucky looks scary the entire movie.  I mean he looks scary, like insane in the whole movie. When I was watching the movie, I thought to myself what parent or adult would ever buy this doll for a child, he looks creepy.

3. Andy was too old to have a doll. Like his character was between 11-13. 

4. The killings were overkill. I mean like way over the top!  I had to cover my eyes during 2 of the deaths because they were so gruesome.  I have a weak stomach.

5. The movie was just badd from beginning to end. 

Although I didn’t like the movie, I’m glad I saw it. I think it made me appreciate the original more. I’m a movie buff so I try to see movies as often as possible. Have you seen the remake?
