They say wisdom comes with age. This is something I firmly believe in most cases. Although some of the people I’ve known in my life seem to become more ignorant with age, lol!
What I mean by this is when I look around at the people I know. People that I’ve been friends with and some that are even related to me. They keep doing the same thing repeatedly but expecting different results.
Sometimes we date the same kind of guy but think this one will be different. I myself have been guilty of this.
We stay with the same guy that’s treated us badly but think this year he will be different. We keep eating at fast food restaurants and not exercising and wondering why we’re not losing weight. We keep arguing with that same toxic friend and wondering why we feel drained all the time. It’s a vicious cycle and as we’ve gotten older you would think we would have learned.
Old and bad habits are tough to break but they are necessary. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized I don’t care about the things I once cared about. People’s opinion of me don’t matter. You know why? It won’t change who I am and most importantly they don’t pay my bills, lol!
As we get older we look around and see the older people that we’ve known and love all of our life slowly start to die. We then realize death is inevitable and making time for the ones we love is what matters. Spending time with your family is what’s most important. Friends that are truly friends will make time for you.
We realize life is short and we want to live a life without regrets. We want to take those chances and go on those trips and try that weird food we saw on TopChef!
