Today is the Kentucky Derby, the first of the triple crown races! I am more than excited and if you are wondering, yes I made my own hat! I watch the Kentucky Derby every year and this year we are having a party and making hats right before the race. I am over the moon about it, lol! I think I have said this before, I love any reason to have a party. I like to celebrate. Maybe because I like to eat and drink.
Years ago when my sister KK had us watch the amazing inspirational movie Secretariat, I have been watching the Kentucky Derby! I have yet to see a horse move the way Secretariat did. I think I keep watching each year to see if a horse does so I can say I saw it. That movie moved me in a way I can’t describe. As someone that has always loved horses, I don’t know why I never watched the Kentucky Derby.
Today I am rooting for Improbable! I did my research and he seems to have the best chance at winning. Well, Game Changer does, but I like the name Improbable better, lol. Although it doesn’t really matter who wins, I just like to see the horses race. There is something beautiful about seeing a horse run. When you think about it, as beautiful as horses are, what else would their purpose be if they didn’t run? I’m not saying they have to be race horses but they sure do like to run.
