Good morning beautiful humans, Happy Good Friday! Thank you for spending part of your morning with me or evening depending on where you live in this great big world. Welcome to Life with Lane, my life through words, pictures, and food!

Life with Lane, my life through words, pictures, and food!

Before I start I just want to say Happy Good Friday to everyone again. This isn’t any normal Friday, it’s good Friday! The day Jesus was crucified and died for our sins. So yes, this isn’t just any normal Friday.

I just found out that April is National Poetry Month here in Orlando. So, I thought I would share some of my poems two days each week for the rest of the month. I never thought I would be someone that writes poetry until I joined that site called FanStory. There were competitions weekly and to become a better writer, I would enter into the contest. I never won any of the contest but I wrote a lot of poems.

Today, I am going to share a poem with you called Lost Memories. When there was a poetry competition, there would always be a random topic. This was so long ago, I’m not sure what the topic was but I’m assuming it was memories or family.

Unfamiliar familiar faces
High cheek bones
Full bottom lip
Heart shaped faces
All just like mine
Bound by blood
But yet so distant
Cousins hugging me I’ve never met
Aunt and Uncles telling me how I’ve changed
Yet I have no knowledge of them
Lovely grandmother in the corner
Looking lost staring at people she has no recollection of
Fight tears wishing I could help her
Faint memories of her holding me when I was little
Baking cookies and cakes for her special babies
Sad to leave people I barely even knew

Thank you for reading my poem, let me know your thoughts. Follow me on Instagram @lifewithlane14 Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind.
