I’m making this week Confidence Week! Why? 🤔 Because this past weekend as I watched the NFL draft, it seemed that being confident was a problem. It was especially a problem if you’re a young black man. So, it made me want to write about confidence.
Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a very confident woman! I think it’s my best quality, after my intelligence. I want to point out that you can’t get anywhere in life without confidence. I think people need to understand that being confident doesn’t mean you’re not humble.
It’s bothersome to me that people expect black people, especially black young men to be humble, stay in the background, and not show confidence. However, it’s okay for everyone else. It’s pretty upsetting and absurd.
One of the most attractive things someone can be is CONFIDENT. Truly believing in yourself and knowing who you are without being arrogant is the best thing EVER!
What’s wrong with being confident? Please believe I won’t ever dim my light because it makes someone uncomfortable
