Good morning beautiful humans, happy Wednesday! We’re halfway through the week, hooray! Thank you for spending part of your morning with me or evening depending on where you live in this great big world. Welcome to Life with Lane; my life through words, pictures, and food! Come on in…….

“Doing things that matter!” Www.lifewithlane.net
Since it’s Women’s History Month, I thought each Wednesday of the month I’d do a post about a woman or women I admire. There’s alot of women I admire and most of them are still on this earth. They say give people their flowers while they are still here. So, this is me giving them their flowers, lol!

The woman I’m highlighting today is my Mother! Obviously she’d be the one I’d highlight first, lol! If you’ve been following my blog over the last few years you know how close I am with my Mother. I’m 41 years old and still a Momma’s baby, lol!
Maybe it’s because I grew up in a single family household and it made us all so close; I’m not really sure. All I know is my bond with my Mother is unbreakable. She did such an amazing job raising us and she’s the reason I am who I am today. I mean I’m pretty freaking awesome, lol!

I watched her break her back to get us everything we needed and she never complained. She just did it! Today I hate when I hear young mothers say, “I do everything for my kids, no one does more for them than I do!” I’m thinking their your kids, you’re supposed to! I don’t ever remember hearing my Mother say that, why would she?
I remember her coming to every single one of my basketball games. I didn’t start because I wasn’t very good. She still came and sat on the front row with my step-dad! She was my biggest fan. She came to all my track meets and she always brought Gatorade and snacks. My teammates loved my Mother. They loved how dedicated and supportive she was of me.
I can’t imagine how hard it was raising 5 kids alone back then but she did it. She looked beautiful the whole time! She’s always there when I need her. Yes, we argue sometimes and we don’t always agree on things but that happens.
I’ve learned when to hold back on telling her things. Why? Because she is my Mother and I’m her baby and sometimes she’ll overreact, lol! My age has made me wiser. Having a supportive Mother is a blessing. They say parents can be the biggest killer of dreams. That isn’t true in my case. My Mother is the best and I admire her.
If I called my Mother today and told her I needed her, she’d be here tomorrow. Not everyone can say that. I am truly blessed and I thank God! If you have your Mother, count your blessings; not everyone does.
