You can’t tell me how I feel

Good morning beautiful humans, happy Monday! How was your weekend? I hope it was wonderful! Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. Well, come on in……

“You can’t tell me how I feel!”

I saw a quote on Facebook the other day that was something like this, “Me telling you how I felt shouldn’t end in an arguement!” That resonated with me and made me think back to a previous relationship from years ago. I would tell my ex how he made me feel during a discussion or whatever. His response was always negative and he would say to me, I didn’t make you feel that way, you made yourself feel that way.

It rarely ended with him just simply listening to me and apologizing or saying I didn’t realize you felt that way. He always tried to tell me how I felt and what he didn’t do. It was quite sad really and heartbreaking. Needless to say we broke up.

As humans we have to realize that we can’t tell someone how they feel. When someone tells us how they felt in a situation all we can do is listen. If we hurt them and it wasn’t our intention but we do and they let us know. We can’t argue with them. We have to say that wasn’t my intention and hopefully we apologize to them. It shouldn’t end in an argument, us telling them how we think they should or shouldn’t feel, or anything else. We have to be considerate of others, especially the ones we hold dear to us. They won’t always be around.

Thank you for reading my blog. Like, comment, subscribe! What are your thoughts on this topic? Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind. Continue to practice social distancing, wash your hands, and don’t forget about your neighbor! #onelove

  1. Great topic! We need to be able to accept others’ authenticity even if it doesn’t align with our feelings and thought processes. It’s something I’m learning myself. There’s no one way to think, say or do something.
