Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
The annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk was yesterday at 9:00 a.m. here in Orlando. I’ve been doing this walk for the past 7 years I think, maybe 8 or 9 I’m not really sure. I’ve only missed it once because I was having problems with my sciatica and I was in too much pain to do the walk that one time. I felt so bad for missing it; I said I will never do that again.

There were so many people there for the walk it was absolutely amazing. It looked like a fairy sneezed pink and glitter all over the place, lol! I would say some of the costumes were over the top but there is no such thing when it comes to the breast cancer walk. I didn’t get to wear my pink wig this year because of the way that I had my hair.

I was still decked out in all pink but just not my pink wig. Heather would’ve loved how many showed up! This is just my opinion, but I think people show up and go all out in their costumes because it makes them forget for a few hours how sad this really all is. There’s nothing happy about breast cancer or any kind of cancer. Well, beating cancer is something to smile about. However, going through the process is awful.

So, for this one day, you show up looking ridiculous and make a day out of something awful. You wear your pink wig or spray paint your hair pink. You put on your pink bra and pink tutu, pink tights, and shoes! You walk that 5K by yourself or with friends and you show your support. Afterwards you go eat brunch and then you can go home and cry! Well, I didn’t cry this time when I got home. I do miss Heather alot though; all the time. That extra bellini I had today was for her!

Thanks for reading my blog. Like, share, comment, and subscribe if you like. Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind! There’s still 4 days left in this month. So, there’s still time to do something for Breast Cancer Awareness!
