5 Year Plan

Good morning beautiful humans,  happy Sunday! Thank for spending part of your morning with me or evening depending on where you live in this great big world. Welcome to Life with Lane, my life through words, pictures, and food!

Life with Lane: “5 Year Plan!”

Years ago I started working on my 5 year plan. However every time I try to make my 5 year plan it never goes the way that I planned. So, often I find myself rewriting my plan.

At the end of the day I realize I can make all the plans I want and have all these goals, which are good but certain things are all God’s plan. I think he laughs when we make our 5 or 10 year plan. We have all these these ideas of the way we want our life to go.

I thought I’d be married by now with 2 or 3 kids. I’d be living in Atlanta in a two story house with a fence and 2 dogs. That was always my plan by the time I was 30 and then I said okay at 35.

However even though I know that I still work on my 5 year plan because if we don’t have a plan were setting ourself up for failure. I know things happened the way that God wants them to but I would like to think at least he appreciates us having a plan.

I’m not saying don’t make goals for yourself or have a plan. I’m saying when things don’t go your way and you think it’s never going to happen, remember things happen on God’s time not yours. Don’t be discouraged and remember when things dont happen for you, I simply wasn’t for you or its not your time yet.

Thanks for reading my blog! Keep praying, keep reaching higher, and making goals for yourself. Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind. Follow me on Instagram @lifewithlane14

  1. Wonderfully scripted, Lane. Aligning our goals with God’s plan tends to make things go more smoothly … There’s never disappointment and it all works out as it should. I stopped fighting it; no more attempting to obstruct fate. Adjusting our goals to align with God’s intention for us, is simply Truth Fulfilled in Our Purpose.
