Let’s Talk About Elizabeth Warren

Good morning beautiful humans, happy Thursday! Thank you for spending part of your morning with me or evening depending on where you live in this great big beautiful world. Welcome to Life with Lane, my life through words, pictures, and food!

Life with Lane: Let’s Talk About Elizabeth Warren

Although it’s June 2019, the 2020 election is right around the corner. There are so many democratic hopefuls that have thrown their hats into the race. I think something like 20 or so potential candidates. Names like Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Cory Booker, Julian Castro, Pete Buttigieg, etc. The list just goes on and on.

My favorite democratic candidate

One person in my opinion that isn’t getting enough attention is Elizabeth Warren. She’s my favorite candidate. If you’re wondering, no I don’t care about the Native American fiasco, lol! I think Elizabeth should be a front runner. I’ll tell you why in just a moment.

Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders are both household names. Biden was Vice President for 8 years and he has experience in the White House. Beto and Buttigieg are popular with people. Kamala is well spoken and brilliant. She was a prosecutor. Cory is intelligent and good with people, etc. Elizabeth Warren is the only one with an actual plan. She has policy ideas.

Elizabeth Warren

Is there anything better than a woman with a plan? She launched the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau before she became a senator. She wants to wipe out student debt loan. She wants free or low-cost childcare. She wants to address American inequality with wealth tax, imposed annually on “ultra-millionaires”. In addition to her having all of these ideas, she has an actual plan to execute them. (This information is courtesy of http://www.rollingstone.com)

As someone that didn’t grow up with a trust fund set aside for me to go too college; I had to take out student loans. Having friends and family members trying to figure how to payback those loans. Watching my friends with children struggle to pay for childcare. Seeing everyday how people that look like me are treated unfairly on a daily basis because of our skin color. Being Black/African American in America, these are policies that I can get behind. These are things that will help me and the people I care about. This is why Elizabeth Warren is my favorite candidate.

Her policies wouldn’t just help a certain group, it would help people from all backgrounds. She’s trying to help everyone and that is the kind of person we need! She’s for the people, black, white, Asian, native American (lol), rich (just not the super rich), and poor. She seems to get the struggle of the everyday American.

Thank you for reading my blog. I would say I’m sorry for being political but I’m not. I stand up for what I believe is right, even if it means I am standing alone! Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind! Follow me on Instagram @lifewithlane14

  1. The thing is,democrats will find a way to mess everything up. What is going on in America is real game of thrones. We just need to figure out which candidate is Bran and watch him. That sneaky punk. Sitting in that wheel chair like something is wrong with him. Boy get up and walk.!!

    1. Lol! Bran the Broken…….. whatever! But he’ll be a great leader. I’m for whoever can beat Trump but she’s my favorite. None of the others really have ideas. Trump is singing the same tune from last time but it worked. Scary times Tash

    1. It’s so many candidates and it’s early but for me she’s a frontrunner because she has a plan. But in all honesty anyone that can beat Trump is good to me. But im rooting for her 🤗
