Unsung Heroes: Part 3

Good morning beautiful humans, Happy Tuesday! Thank you for spending part of your morning with me. Welcome to Life with Lane!

Last week I didn’t do my post dedicated to an unsung hero. I have to say this month has gone by so fast. March is only 3 days away! This year is just flying by. I have to say that I am looking forward to March. I won’t tell you why but you’ll know soon enough. Great things are on the horizon and I really need it because my heart is heavy and sunshine is needed.

Before I start highlighting my unsung hero, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the beautiful comments about Dusty. The messages were very sweet and so kind. I really appreciate it with all of my heart. The messages really help my healing process.

Unsung Hero

Today I am shining the light on an amazing man named W.E.B DuBois. You may have heard this name. If you haven’t, you will learn about him now. He was born as William Edward Burghardt DuBois, but called W.E.B for short. He was a scholar and he went to Harvard.

He was the first African-American to earn a doctorate degree! In addition to having a Ph.D., he was a sociologist, historian, author, and civil-rights activist. He was one of the founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), in 1909. The list goes on and on for this leader!

There is so much I could write about this wonderful intelligent man but it would be an entire book. However, it would be worth the read. He was all about the advancement of African Americans. He was a protestor against racism and lynching. His thesis was called, “The suppression of the African slave-trade to the United States of America!” He is a great man to read about.

Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind! Follow me on Instagram @lashaunlee36
